Favorite Books

I don't read fiction these days, and in fact I mostly listen (to audiobooks) rather than read per se.

The non-fiction "... With God" series of books/audiotapes by Neale Donald Walsch has without question been the most influence books in my life recently. My personal favorite is "Communion with God". If you want to learn more before buying the book(s), check here.

In general the books on personal empowerment, spirituality, and philosophy that have had a profound influence on me include (in no particular order beyond #1):

bulletThe "... With God" Series - Walsch. "Communion with God" is my favorite. "We are All One."
bullet"The Power of Now" - Tolle. Mindfulness and letting things be.
bullet"Don't Sweat the Small Stuff - And it is All Small Stuff" - Carlson
bullet"Super Self: Doubling Your Personal Effectiveness" - Charles J. Givens. Practical tips.
bullet"Walden" - Thoreau. Simplicity and personal integrity
bullet"Life's Greatest Lessons: 20 Things That Matter" - Hal Urban. Keeping things in perspective.
bullet"Lessons In Mastery" - Tony Robbins. Taking charge of one's life.
bullet"Thirsting for God: The Spiritual Lessons of Mother Theresa" - Mother Teresa, et al
bullet"The Art of Happiness: A Handbook for Living" - or anything else by the Dalai Lama
bullet"The Origins of Virtue" - Ridley. How/why humans became the most social organism.
bullet"The Quest for Consciousness" - Koch. Biological basis of consciousness
bullet"The Meme Machine" - Blackmore. How ideas have a life of their own and control us sometimes.

Absorb the stuff in these books, and it can't help but change your outlook and attitude towards life, although YMMV :-).
